Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Divya Dutta, Om Puri, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Pawan Malhotra, Supriya Pathak, Tanvi Azmi, Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, K K Raina and Others Director:Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Producer:Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Ronnie Screwvala Music:A.R.Rahman Date of Released:February 20th, 2009

'Delhi 6' by Omprakash Mehra lacks good screenplay, first half is dull and dragging, second half is better, but again climax is not dealt well. Only
saving grace is melodious music and good cinematography.
Story:
'Delhi 6' tells the story of Roshan (Abhishek) of Indian origin, who comes to India for the first time, to drop his ailing
grandmother (Waheeda Rehman). She wants to spend the rest of her life back home in India, in the bylanes of Delhi.
She wants to breathe her last in the motherland. This is the first visit for Roshan who is born and brought up in the US completely and little does he
know about the Indian way of living or thinking. But soon all his misconceptions about his granny leaving the entire family and loved ones in America
evaporate when he sees the overwhelming affection and warmth of the people here. Roshan meets Bittu (Sonam) who has only one goal - to make it
to the Indian Idol finals and also get away from the regular social norms and customs of the society. Eventually, Roshan falls in love with Bittu and
what happens from there forms the crux of the story.
Music:
A.R.Rahman's music is good, tunes are catchy and melodious. Tracks 'Masakali', 'Ye Dilli Hai Mere Yaar', 'Rehna Tu', 'Maula' are melodious and
catchy.
Performance:
Abhishek's performance was just about okay, his performance lacked depth. Sonam's performance was good. Waheeda Rahman enacted her part
well. All other supporting cast were average.
Verdict:
To Sum up 'Delhi 6' is boring, nothing to rave about except good music, Wait for the DVD rather than watching it on big screen. 'Delhi 6' can be rated
as below average movie. | |
