Sur - The Melody of Life is a musical movie. Lucky Ali who is already famous for his albums now steps into acting and proves that he is equally comfortable with both singing and acting. A comeback movie of acclaimed director Tanuja Chandra, and music director M M Kreem. Sur has some shades of 'Abhiman' particularly when Lucky envies Gauri for her growing Popularity as a singer even though he was the one to introduce her into the music world.
Vikramaditya Singh (Lucky Ali) runs a music academy in Ooty. He is a famous singer himself. He once comes across a girl with a sweet voice which touches his heart. Her name is Tina Marie D'Silva (Gauri Karnik). He meets her and asks her to join his academy. He wants to make her a star in the music world.

Tina becomes a famous singer and gains more popularity than Vikramaditya. Vikram filled with jealousy blames her for being an embarrassment and not an asset to his school. He insults her during the recording of a song by behaving rudely and also steals her tune and claims it to be his own. He also tells her that she can never be a singer.
Heart broken Tina returns to Goa and decides to become a nun. Later Vikramaditya feels guilty for his behavior towards Tina and goes to Goa to apologize to her. He convinces her to do a live concert with him and gives Tina her share of success. Tina thanks Vikramaditya and tells him that together they can perform concerts all over the world. But he rejects the idea and tells her that their paths are different.
